Why at all should love, or any feeling, be bounded by the piece of contract? That legal paper has become the box that restricts; people too have higher propensity now to “colour outside the line”. -

My best friend gets asked frequently by his dad about having a girlfriend.
The other day I was in the car with them and after a few uncomfortable questions, my friend finally turned to him and said “Dad, I’m gay.”
After a brief awkward silence he turned back to him and said, “Well, do you have a boyfriend?”

I grew up mostly around homophobic people, and I had considered my synagogue to be pretty much the same…
But on Yom Kippur, during the Rabbi’s sermon, he spoke of how any one of any sexuality or gender can come to the temple and pray, or get married.
Many of the people in the congregation did not agree with him, but he said it, and that GMH.
